The Nonagon Project
The Nonagon project is a custom timber-frame and hempcrete building located in Ashland, Oregon. Designed to serve as a completely paint-free and zero-EMF workspace for an apothecary, the interior utilizes natural clay as a healthy alternative to provide exceptional "sensory nourishment". The walls were crafted using Gold Hill's Scratch and Brown mix and Lath mix, and were ultimately finished with the Euro Blend. Furthermore, the unique space features massive custom earthen floors and beautiful clay relief sculptures integrated directly into the wall design
The Oceanspray Project
The Ocean Spray project is a commercial fourplex in Ashland, Oregon, built specifically for long-term tenants. Designed for exceptional energy efficiency and acoustic privacy, the building utilizes straw bale construction finished with Gold Hill Clay Plaster.
The interior bales were initially sprayed with a fire-blocking and adhesive clay slurry made from the Terra Blend and Earthen Base, followed by a thick layer of the Scratch and Brown mix. This combination of thick straw bales and natural clay provides excellent thermal retention and sound deadening between the four units. Additionally, the space features an impressive 70-foot-long cob wall constructed using the Earthen Base mix.
