270mm Aburayaki Trowel

$50.00
Sold Out

The stiffness of the Aburayaki trowel allows the plasterer to apply a thick coat of plaster quickly and with less fatigue. The pointed end is very useful for getting into corners. This is the day to day work horse trowel. As this trowel is steel, it should be washed and dried after each use, to protect from rusting. A light coat of vegetable oil at the end of each work day helps to preserve the steel.

Goldhill Clay Plaster has an agreement with Japanese Plastering, a Japan based trowel supplier, to stock some of the most used trowels that our professional installers use.

We also stock poly floats. These 4 items are used for the application and finishing of Goldhill Scratch & Brown, Goldhill Lath Mix, Goldhill Earth Floor Mix and Goldhill Zenith.

Typically the first coat of plaster is applied with the stiff 270mm long Aburayaki trowel.

Once applied a poly float is used to level out the plaster, before a skim coat of plaster is applied with the 240mm Stainless Steel trowel.

Once the plaster has dried a little the 210mm plastic trowel is used, with a misting bottle to get the desired finish.

The poly float is also used to embed fiberglass or jute mesh into base coats and earthen floors.
